Joseph Thadeus Martinez was born and raised in Brownsville, TX in September of 1990. As a teenager food was his main focus as he began preparing the family dinners as well as taking his first step into the culinary world at age 16 when he got a job as a prep cook in one of Brownsville’s local lunch spots, The Palm Court.
In 2009 he furthered his Culinary journey by attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, TX where he learned a vast array of techniques as well as the inner workings of the industry. He graduated in December of 2010 and moved to Florida where he interned at The Walt Disney World Resort. At age 22 he moved to San Antonio where he began to work with the Silo Restaurant Group and has climbed the ladder from Pantry Station to Sous Chef. He is now focusing his efforts on their latest expansion, Silo Prime, located within the newly restored Historic Fairmount Hotel.
Using this creative freedom, Chef Joseph now focuses on helping the local farming community by showcasing local ingredients in delicious dishes and their potential use in fine dining. He is excited in joining the Chef's Cooperative to continue to use his talent to support local business, farmers and other various non-profit organizations.
