TEDDY LIANG CONSULTING/PRIVATE CHEFTeddy Liang, considered an inspired chef by his peers, started his culinary career in 2008 at Genghis Grill. The San Antonio native worked his way up from dishwasher to the Dallas Corporate office, working in Operations and Management for more than eight years. In pursuit of his culinary heritage and roots, Mr. Liang took time off to visit Taiwan, where he discovered his true passion was cooking. The experience sparked his creative nature, and he returned to Texas and collaborated in a series of pop-ups and dinner parties with noted chefs across the state. Chef Liang moved back to the Alamo City in 2015, working as both a restaurant chef and private chef. Since his return, he’s helped launch the popular food programs at Hanzo Gastropub, Francis Bogside, Sandbox, Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant and Alamo Biscuit Company. He also works closely with restaurant staff. “Restaurants are like families,” he explained. “Each restaurant has its own team culture and it’s important to cultivate that culture as part of the recipe for success for every establishment.” The young culinarian has been recognized as an up and coming chef in San Antonio and was recently named one of the “Top 5 chefs to be looking out for in 2019” by the San Antonio Current. While his professional experience also includes a deep knowledge of street foods and he certainly knows his way around any food truck, fine dining is the bulk of his repertoire. Most recently, his resume includes working as Private Chef for NBA star players including San Antonio Spurs Demar Derozan and Derrick White. You can frequently find Chef Liang, a member of the Chef Cooperatives, cooking up a storm to support local farmers and other champions of the local food movement, as well as supporting San Antonio’s many nonprofit organizations in the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy’s multiple food fests.
